Twitter's Black Lives Matter emoji has returned to social media after a week of uproar over recent police shootings.
The company tweeted "In memory of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile and those before them, we are bringing back our custom emoji."
The emoji features three clenched fists in varying shades of brown. It started appearing at the end of the hashtag #blacklivesmatter on Friday.
The announcement was made by "Blackbirds," an account run by Twitter employees that's designed to "celebrate and encourage diverse perspectives."
