SoCal braces for upcoming rain while red flag warning continues Friday
Forecasted rain this weekend raises concern for mudslides as a red flag warning remains in effect for L.A. and Ventura counties Friday.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A red flag warning was extended and is now in effect through Friday morning for most of Los Angeles and Ventura counties due to extremely low humidity and offshore wind gusts, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS said "fire weather danger relief is on the way this weekend. Big changes coming Saturday to Monday with rain, mountain snow and a big cool down".

The winds are expected to gradually decrease Friday morning.

Humidity will be extremely low with minimums under 10% and poor overnight recovery.

Rain is expected Saturday and Sunday, bringing a quarter to half of an inch of rain to the area. The Palisades Fire area could see about half an inch of rain Friday, as well as the Eaton Fire area. There is also a chance of rain on Monday.

Temperatures are expected to warm up Friday. During the weekend, the region will see a big drop as some moisture from the north moves into SoCal.
