LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- There's going to be a slight warm-up in Southern California for New Year's Day, but the windy and dry conditions will stick around, bringing increased fire danger.
The winds won't be strong, but humidity levels are expected to remain low on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Los Angeles and Orange counties will reach a high of 73 degrees, dropping to 47 at night. That warmest day will be Thursday with temps reaching 77 degrees.
The valleys and Inland Empire will also be warmer on Wednesday with a high of 74 then 80 on Thursday. A cooldown is expected for the first weekend of 2025.
Beaches on Wednesday will see a high of 64 degrees and a low of 50.
Mountains will be mostly sunny, reaching a high of 59 degrees. Similar conditions are expected Thursday but it'll get colder for the weekend.
Deserts will see a high of 68 and a low of 29.
