MENIFEE, Calif. (KABC) -- It's been a wild 24 hours of weather across parts of Southern California, with the Inland Empire taking the brunt of the late summer thunderstorms.

Rialto and Fontana experienced steady rainfall Wednesday afternoon, enough to flood gutters. Lightning was repeatedly seen in Riverside in the afternoon.

In Menifee, a hail storm hit the area near the 215 Freeway and McCall Boulevard.

Some areas, including Temecula, saw a combination of thunder and lightning overnight.

Heavy rains doused Cabazon, making for dangerous roads. A tractor-trailer carrying more than 100 children's bicycles overturned on the westbound Interstate 10 at Main Street at about 7:45 a.m.

In San Diego County, the storm brought heavy rain and hail, and the National Weather Service reported 121 lightning strikes in waters off the coast.
