New rules compensate bumped passengers

Under new government rules, travelers forced off overbooked U.S. flights who arrive at their original destination two hours late will be paid the full price of their fare up to $800.

For passengers arriving less than two hours late, the limit is $400.

The limit for international flights is four hours, and the payments are in addition to the value of the passenger's tickets.

The new rules go into effect next month.
