WAUKEGAN, Ill. Prosecutors told a bond hearing Saturday that Larnell Mace was
angry that his girlfriend had given birth to a girl rather than a
boy. They said he beat four-month-old Jasmine Mace Wednesday when
she wouldn't stop crying.
