Police: 3 bank robbers target O.C. banks

June 13, 2008 6:29:07 AM PDT
Police need the public's help identifying three suspected bank robbers hitting banks in Orange County. The first suspect is called the Village People bandit because of all the hats he's worn during the robberies. He's wanted for four heists, including one at a Union Bank in Laguna Niguel Saturday.

The second suspect is called the wing-ding bandit because of the font style he uses in his demand notes. Investigators say he's struck twice in Dana Point, most recently at a Union Bank on Pacific Coast Highway.

The third suspect is the only one of the three seen with a gun on surveillance videos. Investigators say he held up a Bank of America branch in Laguna Hills Saturday.

If you recognize any of these robbery suspects, call the FBI bank robbery apprehension team at (714) 542-8825.
