Home invasion robberies in Bellflower

BELLFLOWER, Calif. Investigators say the men have carried out at least five /*home invasions*/ between January 30 and April 21. Four of the robberies took place in Bellflower, a fifth in Cerritos.

Detective J. Franck at the Lakewood sheriff's station said the men typically targeted homes where the garage doors had been left open, then confronted the residents outside and forced them into the home at gunpoint. Once inside, they stole cash, electronics, cell phones, and credit cards.

So far, no one has been injured in any of the robberies. Neighbors are understandably concerned.

"Oh man, that makes me want to close my doors and get five alarms," said Arcashia Arnold of Bellflower. "This is a nice street, a nice area."

Investigators have a surveillance photo of one of the suspects, which was taken when he tried to use a stolen debit card at an ATM.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call Det. Franck at (562) 623-3500.
