Woman escapes kidnapper in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif. Police were called just after 2 a.m. after a woman said she'd been kidnapped from Anaheim Street and Dawson Avenue by an assailant who had a gun.

The woman managed to get away at Van Tress avenue and West Q Street. The circumstances of her escape were not released.

Police are now trying to determine if this latest incident is connected with the sexual predator who attempted an apartment break-in over the weekend and who sexually assaulted a teenage girl on June 15.
