Prop 8 rally held in East L.A.

LOS ANGELES The gathering was called "Camp Courage," which is modeled after /*President Obama*/'s winning grassroots campaign. It is intended to turn the gay community's anger of Prop 8 into effective action and to get the measure overturned.

The group also aims to spread the word about /*marriage equality*/ to the Latino community.

"This is an issue of the heart and an issue of the family. And the only way people are going to break down barriers of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, is by meeting them," said Rick Jacobs, Founder, Camp Courage.

Participants were trained on how to go out in the community and talk about the issues surrounding Prop 8.

Camp Courage says it has more than 800,000 members statewide.
