Ross was shot to death last month after a homecoming football game. She was laid to rest last on Saturday.
Her mother Chantha Ross said on Tuesday her daughter was her inspiration and she's grateful for the community's support.
"For 16 years we lived together, she was with me always," she said. "She was wonderful, she was everything to me."
According to police, Ross was an innocent bystander who was shot when two groups of gang members got into a confrontation.
Two teenagers accused of killing Ross have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
