Oxnard man assaulted on his front porch

OXNARD, Calif. It happened about 2:44 a.m. Sunday, on the 1100 Block of South C Street.

Police say the 45-year-old victim was sitting on his front porch when a vehicle parked in front of his home.

Police say the victim observed two men and a woman inside the vehicle drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana. The victim confronted the three, and that's when police say the two men exited the vehicle and attacked the victim with beer bottles and wooden posts from a nearby fence.

The victim's wife ran outside and yelled that she had called the police, scaring off the attackers.

The man was rushed to St. John's Regional Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition Monday with serious head injuries.

The descriptions of the suspects are generic. Both are described as male Hispanics, about 25 years old. One man is 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing about 175 pounds with short, brown hair. The second man is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds with short, black hair. They got away in a newer model, black, two-door compact car.

The suspects could face charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
