Search continues for Upland murder suspect

UPLAND, Calif. According to police, Javier Robinson, 30, killed his roommate, 33-year-old Java Barrasa, at a halfway house in the 300 block of South Bixby Way in Upland on Friday. Barrasa suffered multiple stab wounds.

"They were here, and I guess all taking medication. They were supposed to have a supervisor all the time, and they don't even have a supervisor here," said the victim's uncle Adam Barrasa.

Police say Robinson may have fled in a 1995 light blue, four-door Nissan Sentra. The car, with the license plate 4NFR443, was stolen from the house.

According to investigators, Robinson has an extremely violent criminal past and, on one occasion, pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to a violent crime.

Anyone who sees Robinson or the vehicle is urged to call 911. Police say he is considered to be armed and dangerous.
