2 teens cited for graffiti in Simi Valley

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. When officers arrived just after 7p.m., they found freshly painted graffiti on several of the businesses.

They checked the area and located four juveniles, who had wet paint on their hands consistent with the fresh graffiti.

The suspects also had spray paint cans and admitted to officers they were responsible.

Officers also connected the suspects and their tags to other graffiti in the area.

Police estimated the damage at about $3,000.

Because the suspects are juveniles, 15 years old, they were cited and released to their parents.

They were cited for felony vandalism, conspiracy and possession of spray paint with the intent to commit vandalism.

The city will also seek restitution in civil court and says the parents could face penalties, which include large fines.
