A male motorist, who was reportedly ejected from his vehicle, died at the scene when he was struck by oncoming traffic. The victim has not been identified.
Authorities say that three others were also injured in the accident and taken to local hospitals. The current conditions of those victims are not known at this hour.
All lanes of the 710 Freeway in both directions as well as the Atlantic Boulevard off ramp to the southbound 710 were closed down while officials investigated the accident scene, but /*CHP*/ reopened the freeway by around 5 a.m.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
