Upon deeper inspection, agents discovered 13 plastic-wrapped bundles of cocaine stacked inside of a hidden compartment behind the vehicle's firewall. The estimated street value of the haul is approximately $1 million.
The suspects were arrested and turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration along with the vehicle and the cocaine.
This is the third cocaine seizure in under a week at this particular checkpoint. A week ago, agents seized a total of 44 pounds of cocaine and 4 pounds of methamphetamine in two separate incidents.
