San Bruno resident sues PG&E over explosion

SAN BRUNO, Calif. Steve Dare filed the suit in San Mateo County Superior Court on Friday. Dare said that /*PG&E*/ should turn over a $100 million recovery fund to a third party. He also said that the utility should pay other monetary damages.

The lawsuit claims that the company could withhold the $100 million funding or not follow through on its promise if the money is not placed in an escrow account that is supervised by the court.

Dare rents a home that was not damaged from the fire, but he was evacuated for three days.

The massive blast on Sept. 9 destroyed nearly 40 homes, severely damaged dozens more and killed at least four people.
