Homeowner finds naked intruder under his bed

WESTMINSTER, Calif. When the homeowner confronted the man, the intruder put on his pants and ran away.

Police said they don't believe the suspect has targeted any other homes in the area

Police said the suspect used a ladder to break into the second story window of the home on the 6300 block of Shawnee Road.

"The homeowner's son was sleeping in his bed, and that's why the homeowner made his way into his son's bed to get a peaceful night's rest, and that's when he discovered the guy under the bed," said Westminster police officer Rachel Archambault.

Archambault said the homeowner heard rustling coming from under the bed. When he investigated, he found the suspect under the bed.

"The suspect told the homeowner that he was on drugs, he apologized and then exited the residence in some khaki pants and nothing else," Archambault said. "

Police said the homeowner and his son were not hurt and nothing was stolen from the house.

Neighbors are still trying to figure out what would prompt the suspect to take off his clothes.

"It might have been him taking all his clothes off and finding a dark spot, some place to hide," said neighbor Linzey Koahou.

He is described as bald with a mustache. He also has a tattoo on the back of his neck.

Westminster police are asking the public to help them track down the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call (714) 548-3767.
