Fox speaks out about Parkinson's study

LOS ANGELES The Michael J. Fox Foundation launched the Parkinson's Progression Markers initiative this week.

Fox, who has Parkinson's disease, says he's determined to find the cause and cure to help everyone who suffers from it.

"Cures don't fall out of the sky. They don't. We have to go out and get them. We just assume," said Fox. "I think I always assumed that there was a department of cures, that there was a ministry of cures, a secretary of cures. But there isn't. It's us."

Since Fox started his foundation in 2000, it has funded over $200 million in Parkinson's disease research.
