The team had just been penalized, and apparently the /*quarterback*/ said, "They called another penalty on us, give me the ball."
The center did, which was the snap, and the quarterback acted as if he was marking off the penalty, while the defense watched. He then took off running.
The coach said he expected two things to happen on that play.
One, the quarterback would get hit hard by the linebacker. Two, they would get a first down or a touchdown.
He was happy the team got the latter.
