Airlines make billions off bag fees

LOS ANGELES According to the Bureau of Transportation, airlines have collected more than $1.6 billion in baggage fees during the first two quarters of 2010.

They ranked the top 20 airlines based on baggage revenues and Delta was at the top of the list, raking in more than $473 million. American Airlines and US Airways came in second.

Figures for third-quarter revenues are expected in December.
