Schwarzenegger 'addicted to being governor'

LOS ANGELES In an interview with a newspaper in Austria, Schwarzenegger said he was "addicted to being governor" and that the transition back to private citizen has been difficult.

Schwarzenegger has been busy though. He said he's been managing his financial assets and added that Hollywood salaries aren't what they used to be.

The former governor estimates his seven years in public office cost him $70 million in lost earnings.

Schwarzenegger spoke about California's state budget issues and acknowledged his low approval ratings. He said that he would have cut spending earlier if he knew how hard the recession was going to hit the state.
