A new study found that specially trained dogs may be able to sniff out early signs of colorectal cancer.

Specially trained dogs may be able to sniff out early signs of colorectal cancer.

That's according to a new study in the gastroenterology journal called "Gut." Researchers say a trained Labrador retriever was able to distinguish between cancerous and noncancerous breath as well as stool samples in a majority of people screened.

If future studies confirm these results, it may lead to less invasive colonoscopy alternatives.
