According to the Los Angeles Times, the Medical Board of California is reviewing the quality of care Dr. Atul Madan provided two women after Lap-Band procedures he performed at his clinic in Beverly Hills.
Tamara Walter, 52, died days after the weight loss surgery in late December, and 33-year-old Ana Renteria died in February 2010 days after undergoing the same procedure.
Tamara Walter of Lawndale, 52, died after having Lap-Band surgery in December. Madan was also Walter's surgeon.
