Oxnard man arrested for child pornography

OXNARD, Calif.

On Jan. 31, police said a 9-year-old female Oxnard resident received unsolicited text messages from 18-year-old Nicholas Ortega. Ortega persuaded the victim to send a partially nude photograph of herself via text messaging.

Police said Ortega was also found to be in possession of child pornographic images of a 14-year-old female Oxnard resident.

Ortega was arrested for several counts of child enticement and luring, as well as possession of child pornography. He was booked into Ventura County Sheriff's Department jail with a bail of $50,000.
