$10K reward offered for info in Rosemead hit-and-run

ROSEMEAD, Calif.

Yihang Ma, 19, was struck as she walked along the 3800 block of Walnut Grove Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 31. Authorities say the beauty school student was not in a crosswalk when she was hit.

Six weeks after the accident, police are no closer to making an arrest. Lt. Kim Murakami said part of the problem was that the incident happened late at night.

The entire reward is being offered by the parents of the victim.

"No parent should ever suffer the pain of outliving their child, and that privilege has been taken from us," said the victim's father Joshua Bird.

The suspect's vehicle was described as a gray of silver minivan or SUV.

"Accident or no accident, you have a moral obligation to stop and to make things right and to give us closure," Bird said.

Anyone with information was urged to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Temple Station at (626) 292-3389.
