The family of 92-year-old Jafar Amirshahida joined the LAPD Wednesday to announce the $50,000 reward.
The elderly man was struck on Feb. 27 as he crossed Reseda Boulevard at Victory Boulevard in a marked crosswalk.
Amirshahida's wife of 61 years and his son pleaded for help.
"Nothing could bring him back, but we are asking for help from the community," his son said. "Give us information about the person because this person is a killer."
Witnesses said the suspect's car, a dark-colored, four-door sedan, made a left turn from eastbound Victory Boulevard to northbound Reseda Boulevard when the accident happened.
The elderly man later died of his injuries.
