Designer Christian Louboutin sues Yves Saint Laurent

NEW YORK

Shoe company and designer Christian Louboutin has filed a lawsuit against Yves Saint Laurent claiming it copied Louboutin's signature red sole.

The lawsuit says Louboutin created the red sole logo trademark nearly 20 years ago when he painted red nail polish on the black soles of a pair of women's shoes.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages. Yves Saint Laurent has not responded to the claim.
