Reality Rocks expo: A fan-centric experience

LOS ANGELES

The Reality Rocks expo, a truly fan-centered experience, takes over the Los Angeles Convention Center.

"It's probably the largest gathering of reality stars and unscripted stars," said John Henson, co-host of ABC's "Wipeout." "This was sort of like Comic-Con for reality shows."

Reality shows like ABC'S "Dancing With The Stars," "Shark Tank," "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" and "Wipeout" will be represented.

Henson says there's even going to be an open casting call all day Saturday for the upcoming summer season.

"If you're absolutely insane, that works in your favor," Henson said.

Well, you don't have to be insane to make it on "Shark Tank."

In fact, host Daymond John says it just takes a good idea and those in attendance will have a chance to offer one this weekend. There will be a pitch session for the show and John says anyone can be a star.

"If you notice, a lot of times reality stars are that everyday person, that underdog," he said.

Like beat-boxer Blake Lewis, who was a runner up on the sixth season of "American Idol," or season seven runner-up Kent Boyd from "So You Think You Can Dance."

Their success on reality TV launched them both to stardom and they'll be giving back by performing at the expo.

"The show has done so much for me," Boyd said. "It's catapulted me to something I thought was never possible."

On the subject of giving back, Michael Moloney of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" says come on down and be a part of the show.

His extreme team is doing something for Habitat for Humanity, and he needs helpers.

It's also streaming live on OnTheRedCarpet.com. You can see it here.
