Justin Bieber greets young quake, tsunami survivors in Japan

May 19, 2011 12:00:00 AM PDT
Pop star Justin Bieber took time out from his Asian tour to meet with nine children who survived the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Bieber greeted the kids at the U.S. ambassador's house in Tokyo.

The 17-year-old singer wanted to perform a concert in the tsunami-ravaged area, but he wasn't able to. So, the embassy set up a meet-and-greet with the young victims.

"Things will get better. There's only good times to come from this. So again, my prayers go out to all the families and everybody," said Bieber.

Bieber had two concerts scheduled in Japan this week. He has also contributed to a charity album for the disaster victims along with fellow artists Lady Gaga and Bob Dylan.
