The Food and Drug Administration is placing a new warning label on the popular cholesterol drug Zocor.

The agency said there's an increased risk of muscle damage when Zocor is taken in the highest doses.

The FDA now says the 80 milligram dose of Zocor shouldn't be prescribed for new patients.

It recommends that the highest dose only be given to people who haven't had any muscle problems over 12 months while taking Zocor.
