Ventura to analyze meter measure before putting on ballot

VENTURA, Calif.

The city installed 318 meters in downtown less than a year ago. Many residents and some downtown business owners want them to go. They're pushing for a November ballot measure mandating their removal.

City council on Tuesday voted to analyze the issue for the next month. But it may not matter. In July, city council will either put the measure on the November ballot or enact it without a vote.
