A special committee of the California State University Board of Trustees took up the issue of president salaries at a meeting in Long Beach on Monday.

President salaries have been under scrutiny since last month when trustees voted to pay the new San Diego State University president $100,000 more than his predecessor.

That same day, they approved tuition hikes.

There was no decision at Monday's hearing. Another meeting is scheduled for later this month.
