But while Thursday saw scorching temperatures, many residents say they don't mind it, especially since the summer has, so far, been mild.
"Oh we've been spoiled this summer. It's been very tolerable," said Margaret Fortmeier of Pasadena.
Areas like Northridge and Encino saw temperatures reaching into the 100s, but a cool down was expected this weekend.
