Police say the victim was shot while driving at the corner of State and Sheridan streets in Boyle Heights. After being shot the victim crashed into another car, which started a fire and injured the person inside.
The condition of both victims is unknown.
Police are looking for a Hispanic male, approximately 30 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, around 160 pounds, with brown eyes and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt and grey sweat shorts.
The suspect was last seen running north on State Street and is possibly armed.
