Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is granting her first interview since the January shooting to ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer.

The interview will air as part of a prime-time special Nov. 14 on ABC7. Giffords will be interviewed alongside her husband, retired astronaut Mark Kelly.

One day after the interview airs, a book by Giffords and Kelly is set to be published. It's titled "Gabby: A Story of Courage and Hope."

The 41-year-old Democrat was shot in the head while meeting with constituents at a Tucson grocery store on Jan. 8. Twelve others were wounded and six were killed. The prime suspect in the shooting rampage, 22-year-old Jared Loughner, has pleaded not guilty.

Giffords has slowly emerged from her near fatal brain injury while continuing her rehabilitation at a Texas hospital. She made an appearance in Washington in August to vote on the debt ceiling bill.
