The 51-year-old Lohan is accused of beating up his 28-year-old girlfriend during a daylong fight.
Police initially took Lohan to a hospital to be checked for chest pains, but he was released then placed under arrest.
Authorities released video of Lohan, still in his hospital gown, being booked into jail. He was being held without bail.
Lohan was also charged with domestic violence back in March.
