Long Beach police recover stolen property after arrests

LONG BEACH, Calif.

Police said they've recovered dozens of items stolen from the vehicles of more than 20 victims.

Officers found the stolen property after arresting burglary suspects Vincent Benjamin Hamlin, 32, and Daisy Serrano, 23, last week when witnesses reported a car burglary in Long Beach. Police said the suspects had jewelry and electronic equipment in their car upon arrest.

After the arrest, police then served a search warrant on the suspects' home, where they found more stolen property, such as a stolen bicycle, a motorcycle, credit cards, iPads and iPods. Investigators said some of the property was stolen as far back as 2009.

In order to reclaim stolen property, police said victims had to have filed a police report when it happened. They also need to provide details such as serial numbers or proof of purchase.

Long Beach police posted photos of the stolen items on their Facebook page.

Anyone with information was urged to call police at (562) 570-5888.
