Officers investigating a reported theft found a massive marijuana growing operation in downtown Los Angeles.

The building, located in the 400 block of Towne Avenue, has been under lease since January. The owner called police to report missing air conditioning compressors.

Inside the building, officers found an abandoned pot growing operation. It's the second such site discovered in Skid Row in two months.

Neighbors said the tenants removed three semi trucks worth of equipment about a week ago and brought in a crane to remove those compressors worth between $75,000 and $100,000.
