A report commissioned by Los Angeles County has found that an incorporated city of East L.A. would not be able to support itself financially, and recommended the county reject the proposal.
East L.A. is currently an unincorporated section of the county.
A vote on the matter could come next week, but supporters of cityhood are asking for it to be delayed so they can look at possible sources of new revenue.
