Worthington takes big step in 'Man on a Ledge'

LOS ANGELES

"Man on a Ledge" is a thriller that focuses on the big "step" one man takes to handle a very big problem. He's trying to clear his name for a crime he swears he didn't commit.

Worthington actually did a lot of the filming on a building ledge.

"People thought I would get out there and start crying, curl up in a little ball, which was quite possible, but the more hours I was out there, the more confident I got," he said.

Worthington almost fell a couple of times, and even dangled off the ledge a few times.

"You dangle like a tea bag, you're banging against the side of the building until they pull you up again, and for that brief second, your life flashes before your eyes," he said with a laugh.

"In real life, I'm quite shy and reserved, and I like to stay at home watching TV because my job, I get to fight aliens or monsters or stand 225 feet on a ledge, so that's part of the fun of the job," Worthington said.

"Man on a Ledge" is rated PG-13 and is in theaters this weekend.
