Woman gets out of car just before train crashes into it

SALT LAKE CITY

Surveillance video shows the passenger getting out to push the vehicle while the driver stayed behind the wheel.

Two recycling workers stopped to help the women. That's when they heard the warning bells for an approaching train.

"When we saw the light, I was like, 'OK, you need to get out of the car.' The passenger was out of the car. The driver was sitting in the car as if she wanted to keep driving," said Shawn Brown, a Good Samaritan.

The driver eventually got out and moments later, the train - traveling 60 mph - barreled into the car and carried it away.

One of the recycling workers said if the driver had stayed inside just five seconds longer, she wouldn't have made it.
