The sister of a 9-year-old girl killed in Long Beach in an attempted murder suicide over the weekend is speaking out for the first time.

The body of Xiomara Jonsales was discovered on Saturday morning in the parking lot of a church. The girl's stepfather, Jacinto Trujillo, was on the ground alongside her with self-inflicted wounds.

The victim's mother and sister said everything seemed fine between the little girl and her stepfather.

"He was always fine. He never treated her wrong. He's (known) her since my mom gave birth to her. He's raised her practically," the victim's sister said. "She loved him. She told him every day."

Trujillo has been booked on murder charges.
