Authorities say they received a 911 call shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday about a man lying in the road outside of Tioga, Texas, where the singer lives.
Texas troopers responding to the scene said the 53-year-old appeared to have crashed his Pontiac Trans Am into a construction zone.
Travis was naked at the time of his arrest and made threats to kill officers. Authorities said he refused sobriety tests, so a blood sample was taken.

He was booked for drunk driving and felony retaliation. Travis was arraigned and released on $21,500 bond Wednesday morning from the jail in Sherman, about 60 miles north of Dallas. Blood test results are pending.
This is not the singer's first brush with the law. In February, he was cited for public intoxication.
