Richard Gere, Robert De Niro among honorees at Hollywood Film Awards

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.

The gala honors performances from throughout the year and includes many films that have yet to be released. It recognizes actors and films that are likely to go on to win more awards.

The event included veterans like Robert De Niro and Richard Gere, who received a lifetime achievement award. Amy Adams, Dustin Hoffman and Marion Cotillard also were honored.

De Niro, Bradley Cooper, director David O. Russell were honored for "Silver Linings Playbook," set for release later this year. Seth Rogen presented the comedy award to writer-director Judd Apatow, whose film "This Is 40" opens in December.

The entire cast of "Argo," including director Ben Affleck, was recognized for their work.
