Patrick Dempsey wants to save Tully's Coffee

LOS ANGELES

Patrick Dempsey, of "Grey's Anatomy," is leading a group attempting to buy Tully's Coffee. The Seattle-based coffee chain filed for bankruptcy in October.

The star says he wants to save the chain and help hundreds of workers keep their jobs.

Dempsey has strong ties to the city because "Grey's Anatomy's" fictional Seattle Grace hospital is set there.

Tully's has 47 company-run stores in Washington and California, as well as five franchised stores and 58 licensed locations in the U.S.

A bankruptcy court hearing is set for Jan. 11 in Seattle.
