Police seek street robbery suspect in Ventura

VENTURA, Calif.

Officers found a male victim in front of a Chevron gas station on the corner. He was bleeding from injuries sustained in the robbery of his bicycle.

The victim was riding east on Thompson Blvd. at about 2:55 p.m. when he was confronted by a white male in his 20s, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds, wearing a dark-colored shirt and shorts and a white/orange hat.

Police say a brief conversation took place, and then the suspect demanded the victim's property. The victim was reluctant to give up his property, whereupon the suspect repeatedly punched the victim and took his property.

The suspect was last seen riding a dark-colored mountain bike north on California St. Police were unable to locate the suspect.

The victim was treated for minor injuries at Ventura County Medical Center.
