Thursday was an exciting day at ABC7, because the winner of our Facebook Mercedes-Benz giveaway arrived to claim her prize.
And what a prize it is: a beautiful 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA250.
Representatives from the Mercedes-Benz Dealers of Southern California joined us to do the honors.
The winner: Mervat Silva of Orange County. Mervat and her husband were so excited to finally see the car in person.
But Garth Kemp was a little reluctant to actually hand over the keys.
"You have no problem with me taking it out for a couple of weeks?" Garth asked.
"Yeah, I do," said Mervat.
"Did you enter every day?" asked Garth.
"Every morning, religiously," said Mervat.
"Maybe you won the first time," said Garth.
"I'm glad I won, it doesn't matter which time," Mervat said.

A total of 521,000 people entered the drawing, which was available to anyone on Facebook who "liked" the ABC7 Facebook page. The winner was selected by a random computer drawing.
Entrants had to be 18 years of age and legal residents of the United States physically located and residing in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Eastern Kern, Inyo or Ventura counties in California ("viewing area"). Anyone who has worked for ABC7 now, or within the past six months, was not eligible to win the prize (nor their immediate family members or household members).
