Wind advisories remain in effect in Southern California

PORTER RANCH, LOS ANGELES

The red-flag warnings expired at 6 p.m. Sunday but wind advisories remain in effect for Orange County, the Inland Empire and San Bernardino mountains until 12 p.m.

Gusty winds had weakened across the region Sunday afternoon, though sporadic gusts were reported. Fire danger remained a concern. Most cities were seeing a 20 to 30 percent range of humidity, which is an improvement over the last 24 hours, but conditions are expected to be hot throughout the region.

Very poor relative humidity is expected overnight with values back into the single digits Monday. Winds are forecast to remain light Monday, reducing fire weather conditions.

Meantime, crews worked through the day in Camp Pendleton to put out a blaze that broke out Saturday. The fire has charred 1,500 acres and continues to grow. The fire remains at 15 percent containment.
