The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is just one of many charities in need of donations.
"What nonprofits all over the country are asking is that people think about them on Giving Tuesday, and maybe give a little bit to help their community," said Jennifer Errico of L.A. Regional Food Bank.
Errico said for every dollar they receive, they are able to provide four meals.
"That means if you just give us $10, you fed 40 people," Errico said.
There are 6,000 charities participating in the second annual Giving Tuesday. The national campaign encourages people to remember that the holidays aren't just about bargains and shopping, but about charity.
